Privacy summary
The global Android version of iRecordScreen does not include Umeng, advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, crash-reporting SDKs, or advertising-identifier integrations. It does not automatically transmit recordings, screenshots, audio, app-usage events, or device identifiers to us.
Screen recordings, FaceCam video, screenshots, imported media, editing files, settings, and diagnostic logs are processed and stored locally by default. iRecordScreen does not provide cloud recording, cloud backup, or cloud synchronization.
Scope
This policy covers the iRecordScreen website, the iOS app, and the global Android app distributed through Google Play. The mainland-China Android edition is a technically separate distribution and may use different account, payment, analytics, and support services. Its in-app privacy notice and the dedicated mainland-China privacy policy apply to that edition.
Mainland-China notice
Recordings and on-device processing
Screen recordings, screenshots, FaceCam video, microphone audio, imported media, thumbnails, editing files, voice-preview samples, app settings, and diagnostic logs are processed and stored locally by default. Core recording and editing do not require an iRecordScreen account and do not upload media to an iRecordScreen cloud service.
- Files remain under your control until you export, share, transfer, or delete them.
- Saving to the system gallery and sharing use operating-system services and the destination you select.
- You are responsible for obtaining any notice, permission, or consent needed to record, store, edit, or share people and third-party content.
Global Android permissions
The global Android app requests permissions only when a related feature needs them. You can change permission choices in Android settings, but the related feature may stop working.
- Screen capture / MediaProjection: Android shows a system authorization flow before iRecordScreen can capture the screen and device audio that the operating system allows.
- Microphone: used only when you select a recording mode that includes microphone audio or use voice preview.
- Camera: used only when you enable FaceCam.
- Display over other apps: used for floating recording controls, FaceCam, drawing, and other recording tools. Those floating features are unavailable without permission.
- Notifications: used to show the ongoing recording status and pause, resume, and stop controls.
- Storage on Android 9 and earlier: requested only when you take a screenshot or export to shared storage. Android 10 and later use system media mechanisms.
- Local network on Android 17 and later: requested only when you start local Wi-Fi transfer, so a browser on the same network can temporarily read finished recordings you make available.
iOS permissions
On iOS, iRecordScreen uses ReplayKit and the permissions required by the feature you choose.
- Screen Recording / ReplayKit: captures the screen and supported audio through the system broadcast flow.
- Camera: provides front or rear FaceCam when enabled.
- Microphone: records narration or supported mixed audio when selected.
- Photos: saves finished recordings or imports media you select where the chosen workflow requires it.
Analytics, advertising, and third-party services
The global Android app does not include Umeng, advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, crash-reporting SDKs, or advertising-identifier integrations. It does not automatically report app-interaction events or recording activity to us.
- We do not sell recordings or other user content, and we do not use recordings to train models.
- Google Play, Apple App Store, the operating system, system email services, destinations you choose for sharing, and website hosting providers process necessary information under their own terms.
- If a future release adds analytics, crash reporting, cloud services, login, or payment, the app disclosures, this policy, and the applicable store privacy declarations must be updated before that processing begins.
Sharing, export, and local Wi-Fi transfer
Content leaves app-specific storage only when you take a specific action, such as saving to the system gallery, sharing through the system share sheet, sending support email, exporting diagnostic logs, or starting local Wi-Fi transfer. The recipient or destination you choose processes that content under its own privacy terms.
Wi-Fi transfer temporarily starts a local service on the phone. It does not upload recordings to an internet server. A device on the same local network that has the temporary link or access code may view or download recordings made available for that session. Use this feature only on a trusted network and stop it when the transfer is complete.
Support and diagnostics
When you choose to contact support, we process the email address, message, issue category, attachments you add, and the basic diagnostic information included in the message so that we can respond and troubleshoot the problem.
When you compose an Android support email, the message may include the app name, package name, version, version code, global_google channel, device brand and model, Android version and API level, app language, screen pixel dimensions, and screen density. You can review, edit, or cancel the message in your system email app before sending it.
Recordings and retained diagnostic logs are not automatically attached or uploaded. You decide whether to send the email, add media, or separately export and share logs.
Local diagnostic logs
Release builds can keep redacted Info, Warning, and Error logs in the app's private no-backup directory. Logs rotate and are cleaned on the device. They are not sent to us automatically. Logs leave private storage only when you open the diagnostic page and choose to export or share them, and you can clear retained logs from that page.
Website data
irecordscreen.com is a static website hosted on Firebase Hosting. The hosting infrastructure may process ordinary request information such as IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent, and security logs. The website does not intentionally load advertising or marketing-analytics scripts in the current release.
Retention and deletion
App-private recordings and local state remain until you delete them, clear app data, uninstall the app, or the operating system removes them under platform rules. Copies exported to the system gallery, Downloads, or another destination are controlled by that destination and are not automatically deleted when the app is uninstalled.
Local diagnostic logs rotate automatically and can be cleared in the app. Support correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the request, meet legal obligations, maintain security, or handle disputes. Website security and request logs follow the hosting provider's retention rules and applicable law.
You can contact support@miremire.com to request access, correction, or deletion of support information you previously chose to send, where applicable.
No global Android account
The global Android app does not create or require an iRecordScreen account. There is therefore no global Android app account to delete. You can delete local recordings and app data through the app and Android system settings, and you can contact us regarding support information you previously chose to send.
Your choices and rights
You can manage local recordings, revoke device permissions in system settings, choose whether to send support information, stop local Wi-Fi transfer, and contact us to exercise applicable access, correction, deletion, objection, or complaint rights. We may need to verify a request before acting on it.
Children
iRecordScreen is a general-purpose recording utility and is not designed to collect children's personal information. Guardians and educators should supervise recordings involving minors and obtain any notice or consent required by law.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures for information we receive, but no device, network, email, or storage method is completely secure. Protect your device, use Wi-Fi transfer only on trusted networks, and review recordings and attachments before sharing.
Changes to this policy
Material changes will be identified by a new update date and, where required by law or platform policy, an in-app notice or consent request. We will not silently expand sensitive processing through a website text change alone.
